What are boomers like in Spain?

I am quoted in a feature article by Rosanna Carcaller, in La Vanguardia:

“The idea that the baby boomer generation is responsible for all the economic, social, and political problems we face today is a myth, constructed by politicians and commentators (…). Blaming the boomers is a toxic mix of anxieties about an aging population, concerns about levels of public spending and the welfare state, and distress about the cultural legacy of the 1960s,” writes Jennie Bristow, a sociology Ph.D., professor at the University of Canterbury, and author of Stop Mugging Grandma (Yale University Press, 2019).

“The scapegoating of boomers is no coincidence. This is the generation that is currently reaching retirement age, at a time when austerity policies have prioritized the need to reduce public spending on pensions and healthcare, making boomers an easy target,” writes Bristow. “There is a bizarrely inaccurate and homogeneous view of the boomer generation, as if all of them were blessed with luck, wealth, large houses, and golden pensions, and were conspiring to protect their own interests at the expense of their children. This is dangerous and divisive nonsense,” adds the sociologist.
